The Cobo Center Sales Team

Greg DeSandy - Director of Sales

Greg returned to his hometown of Detroit, from Augusta, GA, for the opportunity of leading the Cobo Center sales team. He has over 30 years experience in convention, conference and meetings sales. This ranges from working at venue organizations such as Marriott, Radisson and Westin Hotels & Resorts, and most recently, the Augusta Georgia Marriott and Augusta Convention Center. Greg works key accounts for trade shows, conventions and conferences.

David Austin - Senior Sales Manager

Dave has been in sales at Cobo Center, Detroit for more than a decade. Previously he has worked in motor sports and minor league baseball. Dave manages state and national association accounts, and national conferences, trade shows and sports events. He also works with government event and corporate event accounts, and works closely with the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau and Detroit Sports Commission.

Constance Wilson - Sales Manager

Constance was promoted to the sales team from Events Services at Cobo Center. She has previously worked in special events for the Mayor’s Office and at the Detroit Opera House. Constance works primarily local and state meetings and conferences, including association events, government events and corporate events.

Jennifer Berkemeier - Sales Manager

Jennifer joined Cobo Center's sales team in November of 2011, coming from The Fillmore Theatre/Live Nation Entertainment with thirteen years of experience in venue management and live entertainment.  She sells banquet events including weddings, galas, fundraisers, corporate events and holiday parties, specifically for the new Grand Riverview Ballroom.

Lindsey joined the Cobo Center team as an event manager in 2015 and was promoted to sales manager in 2017, focusing on selling and managing special events including weddings, social gatherings and corporate functions. Previously, Lindsey managed special events at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa, and food and beverage sales at Ford Field.

The Cobo Center Grand Riverview Ballroom is Michigan state's largest banquet and event venue. Equipped with a lift stage for dramatic introductions, the ballroom is 40,000 square-feet, dividable with a retractable wall and complemented by glass-enclosed, 10,000 square-feet of pre-function space and an open-air terrace overlooking the Detroit River and the skyline of Windsor, Ontario. The new ballroom has a 3600 theater seating capacity or 2,500 banquet seating. Used for banquets, weddings, meetings, award ceremonies, fundraisers, political conventions, media presentations and myriad other venue functions, the Cobo Center Grand Riverview Ballroom undoubtedly enhances every event it holds.
